4-POINT CORTISOL

This is an at-home salivary collection used for patients complaining of feeling overly stressed, fatigued or generally “burned out.”  Cortisol is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands in response to stress.  In normally functioning, healthy adrenal glands, cortisol should be significantly higher in the morning than it is at night.  Collecting multiple samples through the day allows for the analysis of a healthy cortisol curve.  Collecting via saliva decreases the discomfort of multiple invasive blood draws over the course of one day.  As well, most of the hormone is bound to protein and is therefore inactive, making salivary testing more clinically relevant.

Readjusting the cortisol curve based on individualized results can result in improved energy, sleep, blood sugar regulation and weight loss.
